Pubfest donation of $2500 handed to Coastguard Sandy Strait

THE thousands of revellers at The World's Greatest Pubfest in Maryborough this year have helped Coastguard Sandy Straits to the tune of $2500.

Fraser Coast Regional Council has handed over the money to the unit which is based at Boonooroo.

The funds will be used to install equipment at the Coastguard's Boonooroo base, Commander Jukka Manttari said.

The donation comprises money collected in donation tins at the venues and $1 from each pub crawl card sold.

"It is great that revellers can have fun and raise funds to help out the Coastguard," events portfolio Councillor Darren Everard said.
