Pupils push sports offer
TWENTY-THREE schools across the Fraser Coast are engrossed in enhancing the sporting experiences of their students, with the help of Coles.
Pupils from high schools and primary schools are urging their mums and dads to do their weekly shop at Coles so they can get their hands on the sports vouchers available for every $10 spent.
Schools could cash in on thousands of dollars worth of new sporting equipment thanks to the innovative Sports for Schools program.
From the start of September they had 10 weeks to collect the vouchers that can be redeemed for sports gear.
The program is part of a Coles push to promote healthy and active lifestyles among Australian children, with legendary Olympic gold medallist Cathy Freeman the face of the campaign.
The vouchers will be collected from schools in Maryborough and Hervey Bay in December and then counted with the shiny new equipment to be delivered at the start of the 2011 school year.
