Putting contest to raise funds to rehome refuge animals

THE Maryborough and District Animal Refuge has dozens of pets available.

All animals are desexed and vaccinated, microchipped, registered (except cats) and up-to-date with flea and worm treatment.

The refuge is always looking for donations of food and finances and/or sponsorship.

There are boarding facilities for cats and dogs at affordable rates.

One super special for Herald readers is 18-month-old domestic short hair Tina.

Tina is a girl who likes to live a life of relaxation.

Tina can often be found sleeping in a bed watching the world go by from her shelf.

She enjoys having humans around and getting smooches.

Tina, along with all the other cats, were on special for only $99 until May 11 so pop down to meet them all today.

Another pet looking for a forever home was cattle dog cross mastiff Kaisa.

The one-year-old beautifully natured boy who was always happy to see you, his whole body wags to show you just how happy he is.

You can't help but smile when with Kaisa.

He loves the company of people and enjoys going for walks. He is happy to be included with anything you do. After his initial excitement, he walks well on leash and is willing to learn, he will make a very loving and loyal companion.

Kaisa can be adopted for $200 for this week only.

The refuge will also host a Charity Golf Day to raise much-needed funds.

The day will be held at the Maryborough Golf Club, Queen Street on Sunday, May 20 with two shotgun starts - 6.30am and 11.30am.

You can come as a team of four or you can be added to a team. There are sponsorship packages available and trophies to be won.

Player fees were $17 for club members and $22 for non-members.

There will also be a putting contest.
