Queensland Sidecars Title rescheduled for February
THE Queensland Sidecar Title will be held at Maryborough Speedway on February 3 after last week's washout.
The title was originally set for November 18, and riders from across the state travelled to Maryborough intent on making their mark on the field.
The event, headlined by former world champion Darrin Treloar and a cast of sidecar and solos stars, was cancelled about 4pm due to concerns about rider safety.
Motorcycling Queensland referee Kevin Apps said rider safety was paramount in the decision.
"(The meet was cancelled due to) the track condition after the rain,” he said.
Time trials were successfully completed before cancellation.
"There is now a race meeting - we've got 16 riders plus one reserve,” Apps said.
The delay means sidecar riders will have another opportunity to fine-tune preparations at the track on December 9, when the Heritage City hosts the Queensland Solos Title.
