Radiology services added to St Stephen's Hospital mix

FRASER Coast residents will soon have access to world-class radiology services following the launch of St Stephen's Medical Imaging in Maryborough and Hervey Bay early next month.

From April 1, one of Queensland's largest and most comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology practices will be operating at St Stephen's Hospital in Maryborough.

There will also be a centre located at Torquay Rd in Pialba, Hervey Bay which will relocate to the new hospital from September.

Wesley Medical Imaging general manager Jason Dowden said the team was excited to be part of the new hospital and to be able to offer the local community world-class radiology services.

"We look forward to providing a world-class imaging service from this location with state-of-the-art equipment and services. Additionally, we will be able to draw on the specialist expertise of the radiology service at Wesley Hospital to provide the local community with the same calibre of medical care as that offered in Brisbane."

St Stephen's Medical Imaging will join a number of other medical services, including pathology, physio- therapy, and oncology as well as competing radiology services being introduced as part of Hervey Bay's wider medical precinct.
