Rain can't dampen riders' spirits

HORSES: It was a very important day for the littlies who jumped in the saddle for the very first time as Maryborough Pony Club members at the weekend.

Heavy rain didn’t dampen the spirits of 20 riders who were lucky enough to have booked the undercover dressage arena at Maryborough Park for the clubs first official rally day for the year.

Media officer Tracy Hose said a variety of riders ranging from beginners to advanced riders took to the arena under the watchful eye of three instructors to work on jumping, flatwork and riding techniques.

“There were lots of little ones that came. There were riders from four or five year old.

“It was a really good day.”

The club hosts a rally day each fortnight and Mrs Hose says all nominations are still welcome.

Come along to the next event on Sunday, February 21 or visit www.maryboroughponyclub.org.au for more information.
