Rebels boss charged over drugs
MORE THAN 100 ecstasy tablets, half a litre of steroids and 24 grams of cannabis were allegedly found during a search of Adam Warwick McCrea’s Takura property on March 4.
Explosives, drug utensils and more than $10,000 cash were also allegedly found in McCrea’s home during the search.
The 44-year-old leader of the Wide Bay Rebels club appeared in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court yesterday where he was committed to stand trial on three charges of possessing a dangerous drug.
Prosecutor Sergeant Michael Quirk tendered 14 witness statements as well as drug analysis certificates during the committal.
Six other drug and weapons offences were adjourned for mention in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on April 22.
McCrea did not enter a plea to any of the charges.
He was released on bail until his Supreme Court trial.
A dozen more charges against McCrea, including rape, common assault, supplying drugs and drink spiking, were dropped by the prosecution this week because of insufficient evidence.
