Rebels boss fined for king-hit

A HERVEY Bay bikie has been ordered to pay compensation to a man he king-hit at a pub last year.

Adam Warwick McCrea, 44, pleaded guilty in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to assault occasioning bodily harm.

McCrea was attending a birthday party at the hotel when he took offence to the presence of another man.

The victim was at the party uninvited, the court heard.

McCrea punched the man twice, knocking him to the ground.

He then put his foot on the man and turned him over.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Hervey Bay Hospital.

McCrea and the victim knew each other before the assault.

Magistrate Graeme Tatnell fined McCrea $1250 and ordered he pay $500 compensation to the victim.
