Reception down for Optus and Virgin users

IF YOU have tried to contact a Bundaberg resident using Optus or Virgin services in the last few days there's a good chance you have found it difficult.

The two communication companies' customers were left with limited reception in Bundaberg early this week after problems with phone towers happened about 10am.

"Optus technicians are currently addressing an issue affecting some services in Bundaberg," a spokesperson said.

"Some customers may be experiencing congestion while trying to make calls, SMS or access the internet on their mobile devices."

Optus has seven towers across Bundaberg providing overlapping coverage. Two towers, on Bourbong St and Barolin St, appeared to be down. Virgin shares towers with Optus.

"We apologise to customers who may be affected and are working to restore full services as a matter of priority," the spokesperson said. You can see which towers are out at the site: virginmobile.com.au/coverage.
