Recycling centre invite to pupils
FRASER Coast Waste is offering local state primary schools the opportunity to visit its Materials Recovery Facility Education Centre in Hervey Bay at no cost.
The business unit of Fraser Coast Regional Council recently received funding from the Keep Australia Beautiful Beverage Container Recycling Community Grant.
Community Health, Education and Training Portfolio Councillor Robert Garland said the funding would help cover costs associated with schools visiting the education centre.

"We have state primary schools scattered across the Fraser Coast and sometimes their location makes it hard for them to participate in certain activities," he said.
"The grant will help cover transport costs to and from the education centre so they don't miss out.
"The education visit conforms to the Australian teaching curriculum and gives students an understanding of how we process our recycling," Cr Garland said.
"It really is an interactive experience for students and I encourage schools to get on board and take advantage of the opportunity."
