Reds players honour juniors during visit to Hervey Bay

HERVEY Bay Junior Rugby Union Club rolled out the red carpet to welcome two Queensland Reds players.

New recruit Jono Owen and boom youngster UJ Seuteni joined players, coaches and parents to celebrate the Friday Night Sevens end-of-season event and presented players with their awards.

The next morning the pair hit the beach for a game of touch rugby with the boys and girls.

Australian under-20 fullback Seuteni, who turned 19 on Sunday, said watching the youngsters took him back to his days playing rugby in Adelaide.

Owen, a prop, said he was impressed with the junior seven-a-side competition and believed it was a great stepping stone from the Rookies2Reds program.
