Relay and Camp Out perfect match

MARYBOROUGH Showgrounds and Equestrian Park is set to turn into a tent city when it hosts several events, including the Great Aussie Camp Out, on April 17.

Several hundred people are expected to camp out under the stars.

Adding to the excitement will be Maryborough’s Relay for Life event, which will be held then as well.

“We will also have the Fraser Coast Antique and Collectibles Fair, the Maryborough and Hervey Bay Poultry Club Show, the Maryborough Active Riders’ Clinic and the Maryborough Harness and Saddle Pleasure Club event,” park co-ordinator Thea Griffin said, “and those groups often attract campers to their events.

“The timing for the Great Aussie Camp Out has turned out to be an advantage because Maryborough Relay for Life provides entertainment and food stalls most of the night for its walkers.

“They have agreed that the Great Aussie Camp Out participants and campers from the other events can enjoy those services which could also help raise funds for the Relay for Life.”
