Relish photography competition deadline extended

THERE'S still time to enter the Relish Fraser Coast Photography Competition with organisers extending the deadline until Thursday, May 30.

Photographers have been invited to start snapping and submit their entries showing how they Savour the Moment across the Fraser Coast, while incorporating the local food and/or wine industries.

The best entries will be displayed as part of the Relish Photography Exhibition at Gatakers Artspace during June.

Councillor Darren Everard said the competition added another exciting element to Relish Food and Wine Fest.

"We've received some fantastic entries so far," he said.

"There are some fantastic amateur and professional photographers across the Fraser Coast and we want them to get into the spirit of Relish.

"Get creative and take some photos of your kids helping you in the kitchen or picking veggies from the garden.

"Entry is free so the possibilities are almost endless."

Cr Everard said the goal was to create a complete festival experience.

"Relish will showcase the best regional produce and products from across the region, as well as local cafes and restaurants, award winning wines and gourmet food stalls," he said.

"It's on its way to becoming one of the region's signature events and has really transformed the traditional Pub Fest weekend into two days of fantastic food, wine and culture."

All entries in the photography competition must be taken in the Fraser Coast region and should include the photographer's name, phone number and a 50 word description outlining how it Savours the Moment.

Standout entries will also be featured in the Fraser Coast Chronicle and online via social media www.instagram.com/relishfrasercoast in the lead up to the event.

Cr Everard said those who were struggling for ideas should check out the Relish Instagram page for inspiration.

"Our resident photographers have already posted some very nice photos and it might help to get the creative juices flowing," he said.

Photographers can submit up to five entries per person and all entries can be emailed to events@frasercoast.qld.gov.au.
