Residents rate Fraser living a perfect 10
WE'RE a pretty happy bunch on the Fraser Coast.
That's according to our Fraser Coast Chronicle Facebook page likers.
Inspired by the mayor of a Lithuanian city who created a public "happiness meter" by asking residents to rate their level of happiness, we asked our Facebook page likers to rate their happiness out of a scale of one to 10 (one being very unhappy, 10 being very happy) to calculate the Fraser Coast's average level of happiness.
We received a number of responses and the result is in.
Our average level of happiness is: 6.9.
Most respondents said what made them happy is living on the beautiful Fraser Coast.
Cassie Smith gave her happiness level a 10 out of 10.
"One of the most laid back places you could live. Love the Fraser Coast."
Tarnya Ottway seconded that with a 10 also, commenting "that's why we live here".
Craig Schornrock also gave living on the Fraser Coast a 10 out of 10 but said "trying to afford to live on the Fraser Coast…-20/10".
Joy Oliver agreed, giving a 10 for geographical but a minus 10 for the costs.
"…the Fraser Coast truly is beautiful but for the price we pay to live here, -10. It's ridiculous that we pay to have not a lot at all."
While most sentiment was positive, affordability, the recent floods, cost of rates and crime on the Fraser Coast were negatives.
