"Our thoughts are with the family at this time.

"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of the man."

He said counselling had been offered to the truck driver, 35, who had taken leave from the company in the short term.

11AM: Police have advised the fatal crash scene at the Mary and Bridge St intersection has been cleared.

The prime mover truck has been towed from the scene.

Toowoomba City Patrol Group Inspector Mark Wheeler said the 37-year-old motorcyclist's family had been notified.

He said investigators would prepare a report for the coroner.

10AM: Forensic Crash Unit and Scenes of Crime officers are at the scene and will investigate the cause of the crash in which a male motorcyclist was killed this morning.

The intersection of Bridge and Mary St remains closed to motorists and traffic control is in place.

A 37-year-old Toowoomba man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Toowoomba City Patrol Group Inspector Mark Wheeler said emergency services would look at a number of factors during the investigations including whether speed or driver error played a part.

Insp Wheeler said early indications suggested the motorcycle and a prime-mover were travelling north along Mary St and were turning left onto Bridge St.

He said indications suggested the motorcyclist had crashed into the wheels of the truck.

The male driver of the truck was shaken but uninjured, Insp Wheeler said.

He said police would continue to speak with witnesses to the incident.
