Roo's keen for season to start

THE Maryborough Wallaroos will resume training tonight as the 2009 Bundaberg Rugby League premiers look forward to a new set of challenges as they join the Fraser Coast Rugby League competition this year.

Wallaroos coach Colin Scott said the team was looking forward to joining the Fraser Coast competition and believed the move would provide great benefits when it came to developing junior league on the Fraser Coast because of the new under-18 competition, which will kick off this year.

“It gives them a path to follow,” Scott said.

Scott is also hoping that a representative match between the Fraser Coast and Bundaberg will be held sometime this year as well as a legends game.

Scott said the Fraser Coast competition was growing in strength and the Wallaroos were hoping to be an integral part of that.

Training will start at 6pm at the Doon Villa grounds.
