Ruling the roost at Fraser Coast Show

FIVE-year-old Amber Aherne could not be more proud of her pet chicken ‘Frizzy Lizzy’ who has taken home second prize for best chook in her class at the show.

The Torbanlea State School student is already ambitiously planning to showcase her chicken next year, and said she was aiming for first place.

“I want her to be at the top next year,” Amber said.

“Number one, I’ll do it again.”

Amber has other pet chickens at her home in Burrum Heads, and said her favourite thing about them was how soft they were to cuddle.

“They are soft and fluffy,” she said.

“They let you hug them.”
