Seamstress found alive after 17 days buried in Bangladesh

A SEAMSTRESS has been rescued after spending 17 days buried in the wreckage of a collapsed Bangladesh garment factory.

As the death toll from the tragedy passed 1000, Reshma survived by eating dried food and drinking small amounts of water.

She was discovered on the second floor of the building, where crews had been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors.

"I heard voices of the rescue workers for the past several days," she said from her hospital bed.
