Sailors get set to race in regatta

THE 18th annual Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village Regatta will get under way over the Australia Day weekend and 25 boats have already entered.

Three divisions of yachts will race in the event, including monohulls, multihulls and cruising boats.

The first event of the regatta will be held this Saturday from Urangan to Kingfisher Bay on Fraser Island, starting at 10am.

On the following two days buoy races will be held in front of Kingfisher Bay Resort.

Winners will be announced at a trophy presentation at the resort’s Sand Bar on Monday night.

On Tuesday the final event will be a fun race with a handicap start, returning to Urangan.
