Samsung's top of the range TV will cost $40k

SAMSUNG'S new QLED TV range will sell from $4500 to almost $40,000 in Australia.

The top of the range Q9 panel will offer up to 2000 nit brightness - while the Q8 and Q7 will produce 1500 nits.

The QLED TV features Qantum dot alloy material which produces deeper blacks and 100% colour volume.

Samsung's Smart Hub interface has also been improved to make switching between live TV, online content and on-demand services like Netflix.

WHO WILL WIN THE TV WAR THIS YEAR?

The TV recognises a new device when it is connected and name it on your source list so you don't have to remember what HDMI input it was plugged into.

Samsung's Q9 series will be available in 65-inch, 75-inch and 88-inch models from $9499 to $39,999.

The Q8 and Q7 models will be available in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch sizes from $4499 to almost $11,000.

The new Samsung QLED range will go on sale in Australia from April 17.
