Schoolchildren to perform on streets of Childers

THE streets of Childers will become a stage for local children during the Childers Festival thanks to street theatre and circus workshops funded by Festivals Australia and co-ordinated by Bundaberg Regional Council.

The workshops started on Tuesday and are being held at Cordalba State School with students from Booyal, St Joseph's School Childers, Childers State School and Isis High School.

A number of the young people will be selected by tutors to progress to after-school workshops and then they will perform on Sunday, July 28, at the festival.

The festival will be held on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28.
