STUNTMAN Scott McLean's plan for his road to recovery is going to include the August 2011 City to Surf along with a team of actor friends who are going to use the event as both a celebration of their mate's recovery and a chance to raise money for charity.

Seven months after a Hollywood stunt went wrong in Bangkok during the filming of Hangover 2, Scott's speech and memory is slowly returning.

The accident occurred when Scott was leaning out of a speeding vehicle during a key chase scene when it was hit by another vehicle involved in the take.

“Everyday I see his speech a bit better,” his partner and constant companion Raelene Chapman said.

Raelene spends every waking moment by Scott's side so she can be there for every small achievement.

Scott suffered critical brain damage in the accident.

He is now in the process of relearning how to walk and talk.

Yesterday, Scott's father, Norm McLean, said his son has his setbacks but is doing well.

“He can't wait to get out (of hospital) so he can get on with his life,” Mr McLean said.

It was revealed on Channel 9's 60 Minutes on Sunday that Scott hoped to return to work as a stunt co-ordinator.

His father said after the 60 minutes episode his phone “rang hot” with well-wishers saying they were proud his son had done so well during his rehabilitation.
