HERVEY Bay Seagulls has snapped Past Brothers' women's near two-year undefeated streak.

The Seagulls beat Brothers 22-14 in their last home game of the season.

Coach Brendan Bowers said that while both teams were understrength, he was happy to see his side produce one of its best performances of the year.

The Seagulls were behind 14-4 at the break, but rallied in the second half to produce the breakthrough win.

"I knew it was coming,” Bowers said of the quality of his side's performance.

"I hoped it wouldn't have come today, I was hoping it was closer to the finals.

"It was very pleasing to witness.”

Bowers said Rose Robe and Sinnetta Broome were among his side's best.

The result was a stark contrast to the last two times they met.

Brothers beat the Seagulls 22-0 in their first clash on April 23, then won the second bout 30-4 on June 17.

The last time the Bundaberg club lost was on grand final day in 2015. On that day, Calliope Roosters needed double extra time to beat Brothers 26-22.

Brothers, who will win the minor premiership, is gunning for its sixth title in seven years.

It is on that September weekend Bowers wants to see his Seagulls to play its last game of 2017.

"It's that old cliche, we want to get the grand final but we're taking it one week at a time,” Bowers said.
