
Second Saturday motorbike crash - this one a hit-and-run
POLICE attended a second traffic crash involving a motorbike on Saturday - this time a hit-and-run in Torquay.
The crash happened at 2.50pm on Saturday at the intersection of Colyton and Tavistock Sts.
An elderly driver in a blue station wagon drove through a give way sign and hit a Harley Davison with a pillion rider.
The bike was ridden by a 61-year-old Bargara man.
His pillion passenger was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital and believed to be in a stable condition.
A witness told the Chronicle the elderly driver initially stopped down the road and observed the damage then got back into the car and drove off.
Police are searching for the vehicle.
The car should have a scratch on the right-hand side.
