Seeing art in the flesh

WHILE cast members continue to massage their lines into real-life character down on Zephyr Street, the off-stage activities are equally as frenzied at the Z-Pac Theatre.

Abstract Nude, Richard Yaxley's latest play, opens this Friday night and some opening night extras have been lined up.

The Mike Knight Swing Trio will set the tone for the night with an 80-minute performance in the theatre courtyard from 6pm.

The theatre's foyer will also be turned into a mini gallery for the night with an exhibition of nude art by a host of Fraser Coast artists including Rolf Seiber, Lesley Dahl, Marj Sullivan, Sadre Stokes, Jorge Pujol and Sarah Cooper, who also performs in the play.

Abstract Nude opens at Z-Pac Theatre on Friday, October 16, and runs over three weekends. Tickets on sale at Mary Ryan's Bookshop and ABC Centre in Hervey Bay.
