Severe thundertorms lash SE Qld

SOUTHEAST Queensland residents have been urged to be on alert as severe thunderstorms move in across the region.

Damaging winds, very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones are expected.

The thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast are tipped to affect Logan City, Peachester, Crohamhurst and Conondale by 4:25 pm and Brisbane CBD, Beenleigh, Caloundra and the area southwest of Caloundra by 4:55 pm.

Emergency Management Queensland is urging resident sto move car undercov er, away from trees and secure any lose items.

A severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Maranoa and Warrego, Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
