Show of wool and technicolour at M'boro's Gatakers Artspace

GATAKERS Artspace has been transformed into a bright and colourful woolly wonderland as part of one of its latest exhibitions.

Maryborough Spinners and Weavers has taken over the third level of the space, brightening up the gallery with a collection of hand-made creations.

Anne Chan, 63, from Tiaro, has been spinning for close to 30 years and is one of those involved.

"I just like the tactile quality," she said.

"I was living in Melbourne when I got started and I suppose the weather more than anything encouraged me to play with wool."

Ms Chan said the group named the exhibition All the Colours of the Rainbow - and said the concept encouraged people to explore and play with colour.

Gatakers Artspace, on Kent St, Maryborough, opens from 10am daily.
