REGISTRATIONS have already started rolling in for the new corporate team challenge at this year's World's Greatest Pub Fest in Maryborough on June 9.

Councillor for sport, recreation, open spaces and events Darren Everard has encouraged staff from local businesses to form a team with their workmates and host fundraising events in the lead-up to the big day.

He said all money raised would be donated to this year's nominated charity, Coast Guard Sandy Straits.

The corporate team challenge features four categories:

  • Less than five members - $35
  • 5 to 10 members - $60
  • 10 to 15 members - $85
  • 15 to 20 members - $115

Cr Everard said each team member would receive a Pub Fest kit on registration including an official crawl card and lanyard.

Teams must register by Monday, May 31.

"The team that raises that most money will be chauffeured around on their own private bus for the day and will be honoured as the official VIP guests of Pub Fest," Cr Everard said.

Teams have until close of business on Monday, June 3, to raise as much money as possible.

"All funds raised must be delivered to event organiser Claire Phillips by close of business and the winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 4," he said.

"It's a great day and it's for a great cause so I expect we'll see plenty of teams lining up for the challenge."

Thirteen pubs in Maryborough will participate in this year's World's Greatest Pub Fest:

  • Carriers Arms Hotel
  • Criterion Hotel
  • Post Office Hotel
  • Aussie Hotel
  • Murphy's Hotel
  • Westside Tavern
  • Central Hotel
  • Portside Rotary Hotel
  • Lamington Hotel
  • The Old Sydney Hotel
  • Granville Hotel
  • Customs House Hotel
  • Shamrock Hotel

The festivities will run from 11am to 6pm on June 9.
