Sick kids fill hospital with laughter during bunny visit

AN EASTER bunny has bought much needed laughter and happiness to the Hervey Bay Children's Ward.

Visiting children on Tuesday morning, the bunny handed out gift bags filled with activities, chocolate and toys.

The bunny, supplied by Bunnings Warehouse, toured the ward to the delight of the children.

Zara-Jade Thiel is suffering chronic blocked bowel and has spent the week in the hospital.

Her mum Lorrae said Zara-Jade, 5, faced a long hospital stay and was delighted with the bunny visit.

"It's the first time she's actually laughed since she's been in hospital," Lorrae said.

"She's been very down."

Zara-Jade described the bunny as being very soft.
