Sky dumps on Childers, not Coast

STORMS looked likely around the Fraser Coast yesterday but in the end it was Childers that got the heaviest downpour of rain, recording 20mm.

Maryborough recorded 3mm of rain yesterday while much of the rain bypassed Hervey Bay as the rain headed north.

The dark clouds looked to promise some rain at one stage, accompanied by a few light showers, but it cleared in the afternoon.

Isolated storms were also forecast, with some thunder and lightning accompanying the rain in Maryborough yesterday afternoon.

It doesn't mean the Fraser Coast will miss out completely, however.

Showers are forecast for today and tomorrow but clearing tomorrow afternoon.

Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be fine.

South easterly winds are also expected this week.
