Small dog in Tinana shot in stomach with air rifle

A SMALL dog in Tinana has been shot in the stomach with an air rifle between 3pm and 4pm on Gympie Rd at Tinana on Saturday, March 29.

A Maryborough police representative said the owner of the dog noticed the animal bleeding from its stomach and took it to the vet.

"X-rays showed a puncture wound to the right side of the dog's stomach," the representative said.

"The dog has undergone emergency surgery where the veterinarian has located an air rifle pellet in its stomach cavity."

Anyone with information that might help police find the person who shot the dog should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Constable Jordan Powell at the Maryborough Police Station on 4123 8111.
