AN overwhelming majority of the Fraser Coast's Fracebook followers have supported Gordon Skippen's decision to continue to smoke pot for medicinal purposes.

Despite a suspended prison sentence, the terminally ill Maryborough man vows he won't give up smoking marijuana.

GORDON'S STORY: Local man vows never to give up smoking marijuana

Our Facebook followers have their say on Mr Jensen's case:

Mishell Falk: What a waste of time in court, police, prison and whatever else. Let the man have the last of his life in peace!

Carissa Lee Hansen: This is why medicinal cannabis should be legalised. Nothing hurts more than seeing someone you love go through something horrible like cancer.

Timmy Thornton: Let him smoke in peace.

Ryan Leman: Great system we have. Jail a terminally ill person for trying to get some relief.

Becky Gassman: Leave him alone and let him have some peace

Karla Hoffmann: Smoking it isn't going to help him... Cannabis oil on the other hand might.

Rebekka Charles: This is absolutely crazy if this is helping his pain then let him be. Legalise the drug.

Tryphena Kalantzis: Smoke on old man!

Tim Okane: A true hero. Oppressed. Green pride. Legalise.

Cherylann Hughes: 1 man, a tiny bit of weed, not selling it, just helping him handle the pain etc. So sad our justice system can't do it on a case by case situation. Sadly the law is the law, and I bet the police who charged him, felt like crap having to do their job.

Results from our online poll have revealed 91% of participants disagree that police resources put into Maryborough man Gordon Skippen's medicinal cannabis case are worth it.
