So you want to be a councillor?

CALLS ARE now out for those on the Fraser Coast who want a shot at running for local government.

Those thinking of running as a council candidate are invited to the "So You Want To Be A Councillor" session at the Maryborough City Reception on Thursday night.

Officers from the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning will answer any questions on what it takes to run.

The seminars will explain the nomination process including eligibility as well as outlining what is expected of elected officials in terms of their responsibilities and behaviour.

Nominations for the positions of councillors and Mayors close on 16 February, 2016.

To attend, visit the Maryborough City Hall Reception Room at 6pm on Thursday, October 29.
