Social soccer club chases members

FRASER Coast Social Soccer Club once had up to 40 players keen to kick a football at NE Mclean Oval.

Now, organiser Dwayne Osgood is lucky to have 20 players show up. He said the group, which is aimed at people over-35, meets at 6pm each Wednesday every evening for social games.

"I've run it for about a year but the club's been going for about 10," he said.

"It's just died off a lot.

"We're trying to get more players to come down for a bit of fun."

The 90-minute social sessions cost just $5 per player, who simply have to bring a red or blue shirt each week.

Phone Dwayne on 0459348448 for more information or go to the group's Facebook page here.
