Cemetery Tour on April 17 to commemorate Anzac centenary

TO COMMEMORATE the 100th year of the Anzacs' Gallipoli landing, the Maryborough District Family History Society will hold a special Cemetery Tour on Friday.

Society secretary Margaret Wroe said they were planning to have the Warry Bugle and a pipe player at the event.

"Some of those being remembered in the walk will be Aldyth Scott, Bertie Abbs, Bertie Casperson, Sir William Glasgow, Victor Warry and Richard Warne," she said.

"We ask people to wear good shoes and bring a torch.

"Bookings can be made at the City Hall's Information Centre, or just turn up at the gate."

The Cemetery Tour starts from the main gate of the general cemetery, Walker St, Maryborough, at 6.30pm on Friday, April 17.

The cost is $10 for an adult and $5 for children, and there is a light supper after the tour.

The Maryborough Information Centre is in the City Hall, Kent St, Maryborough.
