Solid start for Coast's state hockey players

HOCKEY: Fraser Coast's state representatives have enjoyed successful starts to the Australian Under-15 Hockey Championships at Wollongong.

Harrisen Douma and Diarmid Chappell are undefeated after four games for the boys' Queensland Maroon team, and must beat New South Wales Blue today to maintain top spot on the Pool A ladder ahead of the finals.

Five Fraser Coast players are playing for the girls' Queensland Maroons, who sit second in their pool.

Hannah Cullum-Sanders, Rose Elmer, Madeline Kenny, Andie Staples and Annelyse Tevant have helped their team win three of four games so far.

Beth Elmer and Lily Browning are playing for third-placed Queensland Gold, who have also won three of four games so far.
