Speedway host huge free event
IT’S not often you get something for nothing – you will at Maryborough Speedway tonight.
Four hours of watching some of the best drivers in the country for free has to be a deal too good to miss. More than 80 drivers will hit the Tinana track for a practice night starting at 5 o’clock. On the menu for race fans will be a smorgasbord of action in a variety of classes.
The list includes V8 Sprintcars, V8 Dirt Modifieds, V8 Super Sedans, V8 Late Models, Midgets, Formula 500s, Wingless Sprints and Modified Productions.
Maryborough Speedway general manager Ryan Harris said it would be a non-stop night of high-speed action.
“With so many drivers coming, we thought it would be a great opportunity for people to come out and check out what speedway is all about,” Harris said.
For regular speedway fans, Harris said the night would see a change in direction for one of Maryborough’s favourite sons, Dan Moes.
The former Queensland 500 champion will make his debut in the Wingless Sprints.
