Spitting case adjourned as solicitor withdraws

A WOMAN accused of spitting at police has had her case adjourned after changing lawyers.

Kelly Louise Smart appeared in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday to face six charges.

Three of these charges involve allegations of assaulting police, with one of these alleged assaults said to have included spitting.

Smart was due to find out if her case was being committed to the District Court on Thursday but instead the case was adjourned as her lawyer from Legal Aid Queensland withdrew.

He has been replaced with another solicitor from Brisbane.

The case will continue on June 22.
