Sport precinct meeting “positive”, councillor claims

THE Fraser Coast Regional Council has held a "positive" meeting with sporting groups about the Fraser Coast Sport Precinct.

At the Beach House on Wednesday night, councillors Darren Everard, Robert Garland, Gerard O'Connell and Stuart Taylor joined the council's CEO Lisa Desmond and planning staff.

It was designed to outline the sport precinct project and how the clubs could be involved.

"It was an extremely positive meeting," Cr Everard said.

"Some were there to encourage council to get on with the project."

Cr Everard said the project was still in a consultation phase.

"We need to do some further consultation with the end users (sporting groups)," he said.
"This whole thing is a work in progress."

The council have allocated an initial $5 million from this budget toward the sport precinct.
