Work well under way for extra classrooms, sport complex

HERVEY Bay State High School is on track to have the most comprehensive educational sporting facilities on the Fraser Coast as part of the government's $328 million infrastructure program.

Construction started at the beginning of the year and will bring the school 16 extra classrooms, a new sporting oval and a sports complex, including two outdoor courts and two indoor courts.

Funding was providing as part of the Flying Start initiative, aimed at giving growing schools the facilities to accommodate Year 7 students in their transition from primary to secondary school in 2015.
