Star of the Sea school visits Hervey Bay’s stars of the sea

YEAR 6 students from Gladstone's Star of the Sea had a whale of a time aboard the Tasman Adventure on Monday.

As winners of the Tourism and Events Queensland Junior Whale Whisperer competition, the class of 47 students took their sea mammals lesson outside the classroom.

The students braved a five-hour bus ride and an early start, to see the whales up close.

Student Jordan Maxwell, 11, said they won the awesome experience with their informative whale collage project.
