State Archives on show for region
AN EXHIBITION featuring some of the most important documents in the State Archives was officially opened on Thursday night.
Top 150 Exhibition at the Maryborough Art Gallery includes 55 wall panels layered with photographs and explanatory text.
It also features copies of government documents, private letters, diary entries and other written works.
Hosted by the Maryborough Regional Arts Council, Top 150 Exhibition has been described as a history lesson into the events that shaped Qld.
“This is the first exhibition of its kind that I’ve seen in Maryborough and it’s really great that it has come here instead of the major cities and larger regional centres,” said gallery director Ann Bowden.
The exhibition will run until February 21 and admission is free.
The Kent Street gallery is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
