IT'S daughter one: mother nil, following the Brothers versus Youngbloods round 13 Hervey Bay Hockey Association clash.

Brothers women's coach Jess Lane said Youngbloods goalkeeper, Karen Douma, and her teenager daughter, Samantha Douma, lined up for opposing outfits in the weekend fixture.

In such a scenario, usually seniority would rule, but Lane said the young upstart defied tradition, and helped her Brothers side to a 3-1 victory.

The result maintains the side's hold on the second ladder position and sets it up for a juicy clash against the league-leading Magpies, who won on the weekend by forfeit.

Brothers prevailed in the A-Grade men's competition by way of a 3-0 score line over the Youngbloods.

They also maintain second place because of the win, as do the Magpies with top spot after toppling the Flames 3-2.
