Stolen bag not a great first impression for English tourist

AN ENGLISH backpacker has received a less than warm welcome to the Fraser Coast.

Sergeant Darryn Morris said at 2.10pm on Monday the tourist's bag was stolen from the foyer of Flashpackers Hervey Bay as she was checking in.

The bag contained all of her personal papers and digital equipment including a camera and phone charger.

Sgt Morris said police were reviewing CCTV footage and described the suspect as a "small, skinny" Caucasian male wearing a dark cap and white sneakers.

Anyone with any information should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
