Stolen Gold Coast car goes up in flames in Hervey Bay

A STOLEN car was abandoned near an empty reservoir in Hervey Bay before being torched on Wednesday morning.

Sergeant Paul Jervis said the Ford utility had a full tank of fuel when it was taken from Labrador on the Gold Coast on Tuesday afternoon.

It was dumped near the rainwater retention basin on Shelley St at Pialba and torched about 4am.

It was well alight by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
