Car theft breaks owners hearts

WHEN brazen thieves stole Kim and David Aston’s car from the driveway of their Dundowran home, they also robbed them of five months of precious baby photos that were stored in their camera that happened to be in the car’s boot.

Ms Aston said more than 1000 photos were on the memory card including snaps of their other three children.

She was in tears over the loss, saying she only had photos of the first two months of seven-month-old daughter Bronte’s life.

“Could I just have my pictures please,” Ms Aston said, when asked what she would say to the thief or thieves.

“You can have the car – that’s replaceable.

“Could I just please have my memory card.”

She said they also lost camping equipment that was in the boot and about to be used on a holiday next month and a baby seat, effectively stranding her and Bronte until she finds a replacement.

Ms Aston said there was only a quarter of a tank of petrol in the car when it was stolen on Tuesday night so the thieves would not have gone far before they had to fill up.
