Strike action at Catholic schools to continue

STRIKE action is set to continue for teachers at two Catholic schools on the Fraser Coast.

The stop work will take place between 8.30am and 10.30am next Thursday again at both Xavier Catholic College and St Mary's Catholic Primary School.

This is the fourth stop work since the last week of term three.

The Independent Education Union Queensland and Northern Territory branch spokesman Terry Burke said the further action was endorsed by members on Thursday during the half hour stop work.

"Because Queensland Catholic school employees care enough about these issues and their potential impact on the quality of education in our schools, they have overwhelmingly endorsed further protected action in order to tell the employers it's time to show they care too," he said.
