Further strike action to take place on Fraser Coast in 2016

FURTHER strike action at Catholic schools in the Fraser Coast is likely to take place early next year.

As hoards of school kids waved goodbye to their teachers, the Independent Education Union - Queensland Northern Territory branch notified of the foreshadowed protected action intended to take place in the new year.

Six protected action work-stops were carried by Union backed Catholic school staff this year since the last week of term three.

In the fifth work stop on November 5, organised across the state, about 50 Xavier Catholic College staff who were disgruntled at "unfair" employment conditions downed tools for about two hours in the morning.

The union's Queensland Northern Territory branch seeks senior teacher pay parity with the Catholic education New South Wales System, four weeks' paid annual leave for school officers and extra planning time for teachers.
