Suns not fussed by Tigers’ ‘irrelevant’ Lynch pursuit

SUNS coach Stuart Dew says he has no problems with former premiership teammate Damien Hardwick's public wooing of star forward Tom Lynch.

The Richmond premiership coach became the first coach to publicly express his interest in the out-of-contract Suns skipper when he said he would love to secure the restricted free agent and would make room for his massive salary next year.

Lynch is set to receive offers of up to $1.5m per year from several Victorian clubs.

It is understood Richmond list manager Blair Hartley rang the Suns to clear the air but Dew said he was not the slightest bit worried.

Last season saw a public spat between Adelaide's Don Pyke and Brisbane coach Chris Fagan over the Lions interest in Charlie Cameron who went on to join the club in the off-season.

It is also understood there was tension between Hardwick and North Melbourne coach Brad Scott over the Roos' pursuit of Dustin Martin.

But Dew made it clear he wasn't going to be the next senior coach to become embroiled in a feud by saying he felt no need to respond.

"We don't really need to. It's outside noise to us, whether it's from another coach, other teams, media, we're not concerned,'' he said.

"It happened all last year, it'll happen all next year, sometimes I'll have to deal with it, sometimes I won't.

"To be honest, it comes and goes in one day. It's a little bit irrelevant.''
