Growers sign on for six years

SUGAR cane growers supplying the Isis Central Sugar Mill have chosen to continue to supply the Isis Mill, with more than 97 per cent signing a new six-year cane supply agreement.

“It is a very pleasing result to date, and a great vote of confidence in the Isis Mill,” general manager John Gorringe said.

“There are fundamental differences between the business models of the local milling companies and I expect more growers to elect to supply the Isis mill as we explain those benefits to existing Bundaberg Sugar suppliers in the next few weeks.”

Crushing for the 2010 season is progressing well with the best weekly production for the season of 69,753 tonnes recorded last week.
